Sometimes all it takes is cleaning up the right spot to make a home look completely different. The front bed here is a good example - scraggly shrubs, pine straw that had seen better days, and a bed that just wasn't doing the home any favors. Nice house, but the entry wasn't keeping up with it.
We cleared out what wasn't working and started fresh. New upright shrubs went in along the foundation, spaced evenly and chosen to complement the brick and dark shutters without competing with them. Fresh mulch was laid throughout the bed to tie everything together and give it that clean, finished edge. Small decisions, but they add up fast.
That's really what landscape maintenance and renovation is about. It's not always a ground-up redesign. Sometimes you just need someone to come in, pull out the dead weight, put the right plants in the right spots, and walk away. The difference is immediate.
The young tree in the front yard got a proper mulch ring too - a detail that helps with moisture retention and root health, not just looks. It's one of those things that's easy to overlook but makes a real difference long-term. We think about the whole picture, not just what's visible from the street on day one.
